Note:  The Jets picked up their first pre-season win, a 5-2 decision over the visiting Flames last night.  In case you missed any of the post-game we’ve got you covered.

Note II:  The news which caused the biggest stir on Monday was that Blake Wheeler, Jacob Trouba and Matt Hendricks spoke about Wheeler’s tweets from this past weekend.  Listen here.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets’ offence finally comes aliveKen recaps the contest last night that saw Winnipeg pull off their first pre-season win along with their first pre-season 5-on-5 goal.

Winnipeg Sun:  Captain stands by convictions.  There was some thought that the topic that got stirred on Saturday with Wheeler’s tweet may not be discussed since it was a game day but the Jets captain (as well as Jacob Trouba and Matt Hendricks) didn’t shy away from discussing the issue.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets get in win column with 5-2 dousing of Flames.  (Paywall).  The Jets certainly put the special in special teams last night scoring four of their five goals with the extra attacker.  In fact of the nine pre-season goals they have all but one were scored on the power play.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets’ young guns got a shot with stars.  (Paywall).  We finally saw the mixing and matching that folks were so excited about as the young prospects got a chance to show off their skills with some of the top player on the Jets team.

TSN:  Adam Lowry leaves game with injuryWhile the hope for most teams is to get through the pre-season free of injury it looks like the bug has caught up to Winnipeg of late.   Not discussed in the article was that Mathieu Perreault was scheduled to play last night but was scratched.  We will have to wait and see what happens at today’s skate.
