Note:  It was a busy day yesterday for the Jets at training camp.  In case you missed it a look at the lines, D pairs during AM skate with audio from Ben Chiarot as well as a look at the lines, D pairs during PM skate with audio from Blake Wheeler, Mathieu Perreault and coach Maurice.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Chiarot looks to establish identity.  Focusing on the things that he can control is all the defenceman can do right now.  Ken also writes about Brendan Lemieux, the penalties called in the game and Steve Mason getting the call in net tonight.

Winnipeg Sun:  Myers aims to return to form.  One of the biggest pieces of the puzzle for the Jets.  They will need a healthy Myers this season.

Winnipeg Free Press: Refs set tone with plethora of pre-season penalties.  (Paywall).  While it is clear there is a mandate from the league to crack down (17 penalties in game one) the problem most have is if this falls off once the regular season begins.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Chiarot working to secure roster spot.  (Paywall).  It was a very interesting and honest chat with the Jets defenceman as he spoke about what he needed to do to ensure his spot on this squad.
