Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news.

Note:  The Jets kick off a two game home stand today starting with the Wild at 4 pm.  With the early start time there won’t be a morning skate.  The lineup will be adjusted with the recent injuries as well as Shawn Matthias being done for the rest of the season.  As always keep it locked to illegalcurve.com for pre and post game news and be sure to follow us on social media including Twitter | Facebook | Instagram.

Note II:  The Moose will hold an practice today at 12 pm at Kirkfield Westwood Community Centre.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Taming the Wild no easy task.  (Paywall). When you’ve gone 0-4 against a team in a season that is somewhat of an understatement but they are coming in a bit wounded having lost four in a row (including last night to the Rangers) with wins over just two of nine opponents n March.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets look to seize opportunity against Wild.  This is like the reverse of what happened with the Jets and the Hawks.  Now Winnipeg is looking to avoid a series sweep against their southern rivals.

Winnipeg Sun:  Five keys to Jets vs. Wild.  Ted’s list includes: 1) Blue-line shuffle. 2) Contain Granlund. 3) Take advantage. 4) Good goalies? 5) How sweet home?  And Ted’s big matchup is Patrik Laine vs. Mikael Granlund.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets injury-ravaged defence corps holding its own.  It has gone from bad to worse with all the starters out of the lineup and we shall see how the rest hold up without those veterans.

Julian Melchiori warm up

Winnipeg Sun:  Finnish fans travel great distance to watch Laine play.  It really is impressive the level of dedication folks in Finland have for their favoured son.

Winnipeg Sun:  Laine keeps focus on game not Calder race.  It isn’t surprising that he isn’t going to get overly engaged in chatter about the trophy that Jets fans have set as the ultimate prize for this season.
