Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news.

Note:  The NHL is officially hitting the pause button with no games scheduled for the next three games.

Note II:  Reminder that there is no Illegal Curve Hockey Show today and no NHL This Week as we take the next couple of shows off.  We return next Saturday at 9 am for three hours of Winnipeg Jets and NHL talk.  As always we will still have plenty of Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose starting again on Monday.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Big Buff & the Finnish Flash are all that’s missing in fan’s mini-arena of dreams.  (Paywall). It is pretty incredible when you can produce something like that on your own initiative.

Winnipeg Sun:  Laine and Ehlers are something special.  We knew that Laine was going to be next level talented but it seems on an almost daily basis we see Nikolaj Ehlers take his game to that next level.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Reports of Maurice’s pending exit are greatly exaggerated.  (Paywall).  Paul tackles the always fun rumours and speculation of a coaching exit.

Jets audio:

Sportsnet 590:  Dean Blundell & Co.  NHL insider Elliotte Friedman was on with Dean Blundell and David Bastl talking about a variety of NHL topics.  He was asked about interest in Trouba from the Leafs which Friedman discusses at the 14:13 mark.  He also mentions a potential of Fleury for Trouba (which he acknowledges is just his own speculation of a good fit).  Goes to 15:20.

Moose news:

Official Manitoba Site:  Reflecting on the first 28 games of the season.  As I noted earlier this week the Moose are well ahead of where they were last season.  In this blog post voice of the Moose Mitch Peacock looks back at the first 28 games.

Prospect talk:

Team USA:   Foley and Roslovic both make Team USA.  The two Jets prospects both made the final cuts and will likely continue to play on a line together during the tournament.
