Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news.

Note:  The Jets left Winnipeg looking for an elusive third win in a row but those hopes were dashed by the Canucks who took the first of two games out West with a 4-1 victory.  The Jets will try to re-group this afternoon with a 2 pm CT practice as they get ready for the re-match on Thursday night.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Winnipeg fans build positive reputation at box office.  (Paywall).  We hear it during the Canadian anthem when the assembled Jets fans collectively let it be known that they are present.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets fall flat against Canucks.  Ted’s breakdown of the game that has sent Jets fans (and this team) into a tailspin.

Winnipeg Sun:  Countryman heaps praise on Jets Ehlers.  He may have been heaping the praises but it was the former Manitoba Moose 1.0 who was the talk of the town after the final buzzer had sounded in Vancouver last night.

Vancouver Sun:  Canucks beat Jets on their own time, which usually runs late.  Read a recap of the game from a Canucks beat writer.

CBC:  ‘Finnish Flash’ Teemu Selanne returning to Winnipeg in May 2017.  Good to see him returning to the city for this worthwhile endevour.

Canucks 4 Jets 1:

Illegal Curve:  Post-game recap.  Includes a recap, stats and audio from Connor Hellebuyck and Coach Maurice.

Illegal Curve:  Jets game plan for Joel Armia and Shawn Matthias.  Just prior to puck drop we heard from coach Paul Maurice who spoke about the two forwards.

Moose news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Connor’s late winner early gift for Moose.  (Paywall).  With Jack Roslovic away the scoring mantle was assumed by the other 2015 1st rounder in the Jets stable of prospects.  Mike with some pre-holiday break notes.
