Note II:  The Moose are back on the ice after a Monday day off.  They will hit the ice for practice at the IcePlex at 11 am.

Jets news:

TSN:  NHL Power Rankings.  A big drop as Winnipeg moves from 13 to 27.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets season has been a circus so far.  It has certainly been as unusual a start to a season as I can remember in the six seasons since they have returned to Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets need old-fashioned hard work for power play.  They need something.  Because the status quo cannot be maintained if this team plans on having any level of success.

Toronto Sun:  Reasons for hope, doubt in Canada’s NHL markets.  Looks at all the Canadian cities including Winnipeg with a look at Why it looks promising and Why this could be a false start.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Road-heavy schedule just what Jets need.  (Paywall).  The team is looking to come together and they will have some time on the road to get together as a squad.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Circus over, Jets back to business.  (Paywall).  While the Jets are not in too deep a hole to get out of they need to get this thing turned around fairly soon.

Globalnews.ca:  Heritage Hangover – Life after Winnipeg’s outdoor NHL game.  Fans sure had a blast but you get the feeling that the players are ready for a return to normality.

Sportsnet:  Patrik Laine wins rookie of the week.  (Video).  Becoming one of the youngest players to register a hat trick in 30 years, plus getting an OT game-winner against the team that passed on him is enough ammunition for Patrik Laine to grab Rookie of the Week honours.

Metro News:  Jets, Oilers among organizations leading the way in indigenous tributes.  If it can help raise awareness then it is a good thing.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Hustler and Lawless.  Dennis Beyak joins the guys to review the Heritage Classic weekend for the Winnipeg Jets. Beyak says that, while the weekend was enjoyable for the Jets alumni, the Jets active roster is still struggling with areas of the game that includes reliable defense and turnovers.
