Jets news:
ESPN: Things we learned from NHL Opening Weekend.. (Paywall) Numbers six (potential teams interested) and seven (may take awhile) deal with Trouba.
New York Post: Rangers could fill major hole with this wayward defenseman. Perhaps I should I be adding New York to the list of teams seen as possible landing spot for Jacob Trouba?
Winnipeg Sun: Jets prep for Heritage game. Players are going to have to focus as they have two big games against Boston tonight and Toronto on Wednesday before they can turn their attention to Sunday’s game against the Oilers (as well as the pre Heritage Classic festivities).
Winnipeg Sun: Jets take hit with Bryan Little out of lineup. Coach Maurice was given the option by Kirk to list two or three things his squad will be missing without the services of Bryan Little and not surprisingly the bench boss choose to list three key areas. I suspect there could have been a few more.
Winnipeg Sun: A celebration of hockey history. Starting today there will be three Jets games, two Moose games, one Alumni game and a whole lot of celebrating the history of hockey in Winnipeg. It is going to be a busy week.
Winnipeg Free Press: Coach wants offence, captain wants defence. (Paywall). Usually you’d think that headline would read opposite.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets must create turmoil in offensive zone with prolonged puck possession. (Paywall). The word chaos sure seems to be a new buzzword around this team
Winnipeg Free Press: Maurice counts the ways Jets miss Little. (Paywall). It really cannot be understated what the Jets lost when Little went down with his injury. While players will try to step up in his absence you cannot just become a player of his calibre.
Yahoo News: Jacob Trouba feeling the pain after Winnipeg trade demand. The Jets could use Trouba’s services, even if it is just in the interim, until a trade can be worked out.
Illegal Curve: Winnipeg Jets Practice Report. A look at the lines from yesterday’s skate at the MTS Centre as well as audio from Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele, Mathieu Perreault and coach Paul Maurice.
