Note:  The day is finally here.  Winnipeg Jets training camp kicks off the MTS IcePlex this morning.  Here is a complete Jets training camp schedule and a list of the 60 players who are coming to camp.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Perreault pumped to stick around.  Fans (and his teammates) love what #85 brings to this team.  Fans will especially like this line “I see myself winning a championship here” at the end of the article.  Camp bolstered by return of World Cup players.  Getting players back in game shape and uninjured is a huge bonus for the Jets.

Global News:  Jets open training camp with vigorous on-ice testing.  The players were certainly put through the ringer today with the workouts on the ice.

Winnipeg Sun:  Plenty of intrigue at Jets camp.  Ken asks a number of questions in his latest column as we get ready to kick off the NHL season including: 1) How will Wheeler lead? 2) Who will Laine play with? 3) Who wins the battle of the crease? 4) When (or) will Jacob Trouba report to camp? 5) Which youngsters will win a job?

Hellebuyck makes save

Winnipeg Free Press:  Laine’s flashes tantalizing.  (Paywall).  Based on what his Finnish teammates were saying about the prospect it may not be long before fans here in Manitoba will get to witness that talent.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Laine gives Jets fans reason to roar.  (Paywall).  While there will be plenty of pressure on #29 this season (not Johnny Oduya) it may benefit the young prospects who won’t have to deal with as much of the spotlight.
