Note:  Day 2 of Jets rookie camp starts today in Penticton, British Columbia with the younguns taking on the Flames prospects with a contest that starts at 6 pm.  In case you missed it here are the lines the Jets used at their skate at the IcePlex before they left.

Jets news:

Global News:  Bobby Hull won’t attend Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame ceremony.  Seems like there is still going to be plenty of outrage over his not attending the ceremony, not because he doesn’t plan on coming, but because he was nominated in the first place.

Yahoo Sports (Puck Daddy):  Blake Wheeler doesn’t want ads tarnishing NHL jerseys.  Doesn’t come as a surprise that the captain doesn’t like the idea of advertising on jerseys.  He’s mentioned in the past how it would tarnish the jersey.

Winnipeg Free Press: Vincent relishes role developing future NHLers.  (Paywall).  He continues down the path of developing young players into more complete hockey players.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Trouba talks contract, expects to be in Jets lineup opening night. (Paywall).  That’s a headline that fans around here will like to read.  Now if they could just read about a contract signing.

Winnipeg Sun:  Super sniper Laine the main Finnish attraction.  This article will have Jets fans eager to skip the World Cup and get right to game one of the NHL season.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets ready for YoungStars Classic.  Ken breaks down this year’s tournament over in B.C. and the different players that will be there for Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets prospects anxious to put off-ice training to use.  While many want to see the finesse players like Laine and Connor will bring to the Jets, it will be interesting to see how the sandpaper skills that Brendan Lemieux brings to the table have continued to develop.

TSN:  Laine’s goal is to stick with Jets for entire season.  (Video).  Jets second overall pick and Team Finland forward Patrik Laine talks about his goals for this season, explaining that his main objective is to stick in the NHL for the entire year.
