Jets (and prospective Jets) @ World Championship games:

Kyle Connor (Team USA) vs. Czech Republic in Game 1 of QFs. (Update:  Kyle Connor did not play today.  The Jets prospect has played in just four of the eight games at the tournament for his home country.  He has been dealing with an undisclosed minor injury.  USA won in a shootout)

Patrik Laine (Finland) vs. Nikolaj Ehlers (Denmark) in Game 2 of QFs.  (Update:  Nikolaj Ehlers picked up an assist.  Laine scored (his seventh in eight games) to close out the 2nd period. Finland won 5-1  Ehlers finishes tournament with four goals and two assists in eight games for Denmark.)

Alexander Burmistrov (Russia) vs. Germany in Game 3 of QFs.  (Update:  Russia beat Germany 4-1 win.  Ivan Telegin picked up an assist and Alexander Burmistrov was held off the score sheet, unless you count penalties).

Mark Scheifele (Canada) vs. Sweden in Game 4 of QFs. (Update: Mark Scheifele opened the scoring for Canada with this nice tip.  He has since added two more assists as Canada dominated Sweden 6-0).

Jets news:

Metro News:  Jets fans keep an eye on prospective Laine at Worlds.  As Hustler has correctly noted many in this city are already eager to buy that #29 Jets jersey.  What about the ones who already have an Oduya jersey?

The Fourth Period:  Jets, Hutchinson haven’t started contract talks yet.  They spoke to Hutchinson’s agent who didn’t seem overly concerned that discussions haven’t yet begun.
