Note:  The Jets kicked off their final road trip with a 2-1 OT win over the Ducks.  It hasn’t been set whether the team will hold a practice today.  They play the San Jose Sharks tomorrow night at the SAP Center.

Note II:  The Moose dropped their first game of the final home stand of the season 4-2 to the Admirals last night.  They will have a chance for revenge tonight in a re-match at the MTS Centre.

Jets news:

TSN:  Priority No. 1 for every Canadian team.  Jets fans may not like that answer for their squad.

Winnipeg Free Press: Five Takes on the game. (Paywall). Ed offers up his thoughts including: 1) Tank commanders 2) Why tank folks will be cursing 3) Tanev’s first game 4) Michael Hutchinson and 5) Lowest point total for the Jets since relocation.

ESPN:  Which teams are most dangerous with Matthews? (Paywall).  Jets fans have been imaging what it would be like to have that type of centre depth on this team.  Ranked fourth on this list.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets tie it late, beat Ducks in OT.  Some fans groaned when the Jets tied it up late and then won in OT as it meant the team got further from a top draft pick.  Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele continue to have hot hands for Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Sun:  Defence should be position of strength.  This group should be dominant with some of the top pieces they have in the fold.  It is a shame that Josh Morrissey got hurt against Iowa here at the MTS Centre awhile back as many would like to see what he could be doing with the Jets at this time.

OC Register:  Overtime loss to Jets leaves Ducks tied with Kings going into Thursday showdown.  Read about the game from a Ducks beat writer’s perspective.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Andrew Copp earning trust, more minutes from Maurice.  It has been an interesting season for the Michigan product as he transitions to the pro game.

CBC:  Knocking down goals-against priority No. 1 for Jets next season.  Two biggest talking points for next year are likely to be the goaltending and penalty problems writes Adam.

Sportsnet:  30 Thoughts.  Kyle Connor mention in #5, Dustin Byfuglien antics at 24 and Scheifele’s scoring at 26.

Jets 2 Ducks 1 in OT:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice post-game.  Took 25 shots to get one, then a second by end of the night.  Liked the way his team plays against top end teams to close out the season?  Impressions of Tanev in his first NHL game.  What did Burmistrov and Copp do to start the PK.

Moose news:

Illegal Curve:  Moose comeback was fleeting in 4-2 loss to Admirals.  Recap includes key plays, injury news, prospect spotlight.  Audio: Jansen Harkins (1st AHL point in 1st game), Brandon Denham (1st AHL goal) & coach McCambridge.

Winnipeg Sun:  Lemieux gets physical.  Written before he made his pro debut but he looked good last night and should fit a nice role on the Jets or Moose next season.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Brendan Lemieux makes pro debut after stormy season in junior. (Paywall).  Will be interesting to see what he can do in the final five games for the Moose.
