Note:  Following yesterday afternoon’s OT loss to the Ducks the Jets will hit the ice at the MTS Centre for a skate.

Note II:  The Moose are back in the city following a Sunday morning flight home from Cleveland.  Manitoba split their series against the Lake Erie Monsters over the weekend.  Today they will take on the Stockton Heat at the MTS Centre with puck dropping at 7 pm.

Afternoon Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: De Leo’s NHL debut follows back-to-back in AHL.  There wasn’t enough time for his family to get to Winnipeg from California in order to see him play his first NHL game but they did get a chance to see the California kid play against the team he grew up watching.

Winnipeg Sun:  Ducks beat Jets in overtime.  The crowd was less than pleased that Kesler wasn’t called for holding the stick just prior to the game winning goal was scored in OT.

TSN:  Connolly Gamble lives his dream.  (video).  Make-A-Wish recipient Connolly Gamble became a Jet for a day, and joined Sara Orlesky to talk about his favourite team and his favourite player, Adam Lowry. Doctors discovered Gamble had a non-life threatening brain tumour while putting him through baseline concussion testing.

Illegal Curve:  Kyle Connor’s point streak hits 25.  In case you missed it Kyle Connor was simply sensational in the Championship game against Minnesota on Saturday.  The game tying goal as well as his three assists were enough to have Jets fans very excited about seeing him wearing a Winnipeg uniform.  He won Tournament MVP and was named to the Big Ten All Tournament Team.
