Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news.

Note:  The Jets hit the ice this afternoon for an afternoon contest at 2 pm against the Anaheim Ducks.  Be sure to keep it locked here for the latest Jets news. As soon as illegalcurve.com is updated we will also notify you via Twitter | Facebook | Instagram.

Note II:  The Moose split their weekend series in Ohio.  Manitoba will take on Stockton on Monday at the MTS Centre.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Beware of mighty special teams.  There has been nothing special about these teams at all this year.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Ehlers nears return after three weeks on shelf with eye injury.  It really is a shame that his rookie campaign had to get shortchanged because he has been a lot of fun for fans to watch on a nightly basis.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Memories of last spring linger, no longer haunt Jets.  Seems like a lifetime ago.  Tim also writes about Burmistrov’s moving in the right direction.

Burmistrov heads up ice

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets in basement of NHL’s Western Conference.  Hard to believe at one point early on this season the Jets were the team thought to be playoff bound and the Ducks were heading the other way.

Winnipeg Sun:  Pavelec not adding up.  Hasn’t been a very good year for the Jets netminder.

Globalnews.ca:  Meet Connolly Gamble, the Winnipeg Jets latest call up.  Pretty cool for that young fan.

Jets audio:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice scrum.  Status of Halischuk?  Rating the play of Ondrej Pavelec.  Would he like to see Enstrom shoot more or be more of a distributor?  What has he liked from Hutchinson’s game the last three weeks?  Are last year’s playoffs relevant at all at this point in the year? How has Burmistrov’s develop/change this season?  How much of the European style has Burmistrov retained? How important is puck possession against a team like Anaheim?  More on Burmistrov.

Moose news:

Cleveland.com:  Lake Erie Monsters shut down Manitoba Moose, 5-0.  A night after shutting out the Monsters the reverse happened to Manitoba.

Prospect news:

Illegal Curve:  Kyle Connor’s point streak hits 25.  I watched the game yesterday and his play was simply sensational.  The game tying goal as well as his three assists were enough to have Jets fans very excited about seeing him wearing a Winnipeg uniform.  He won Tournament MVP and was named to the Big Ten All Tournament Team as his Michigan team defeated Minnesota 5-3 to win the Big Ten Championship.

MBlue.com:  Michigan Rallies Past Minnesota to Win B1G Tournament.  Read a full breakdown of the game here.
