Note:  The Jets dropped game two of the weekend back to back last night to the visiting Oilers.  The team has the day off today.

Note II:  The Moose will play a pair of games this week against the Iowa Wild.  Game one is tonight at the MTS Centre.  Josh Morrissey was returned to the Moose last night with the return to health of Jacob Trouba.

Jets news:

Globalnews: Fan favourite Kroppy recovering in hospital.  Was starting to wonder where he was.  Hope he makes a full recovery and we see him once again at the MTS Centre.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets give full-tank effort but come up empty against Oilers.  (Paywall). Lots to read in Ed’s recap.

Winnipeg Sun:  Pavelec has plenty to play for.  Plenty of games left in the season.

NHL.com:  Edmonton goalie makes 39 saves for Edmonton’s fourth win in past five games.  While the end result wasn’t great, once the final whistle sounded many of the military members in attendance went on the ice for a photo with the team.

Heritage Classic:

TSN:  Heritage Classic to bring rare spectacle to Winnipeg in October.  Have to think spectacle is an appropriate choice of word.  It should certainly be a weekend to remember.

Globe and Mail:  Jets, Oilers, Gretzky and Hawerchuk to renew rivalry outdoors.  Always enjoy when Erik Duhatschek is writing about the Jets.

Winnipeg Sun:  No. 99 not the only reason the Heritage Classic alumni game will be a treat.  When you see that no . 99 will be lacing them up you know it is going to be a special event.

Winnipeg Sun:  Players give thumbs up to Heritage Classic.  The idea of playing in late October certainly seemed to appeal to the players.
