Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Jets and Moose news.

Note:  The Jets play their final home game in February tonight as they host the Dallas Stars in a rare home and home series.  Speaking of final home games this could be Andrew Ladd’s final night as the captain of the Jets (at home) if he in fact gets traded before the February 29th trade deadline.

Note II: The Moose four game win streak ended last night in Iowa. Manitoba had taken a 3-2 lead with 2:41 to go in 3rd but the goal was disallowed. Chase De Leo scored his 15th of the season.  The team will practice this afternoon in Iowa before final game of road trip tomorrow night in a re-match with the Wild.

Jets news:

Sportsnet:  30 Thoughts.  6 (Ladd and Ducks), 10 (Sellers).

Winnipeg Free Press:  Considering life without Ladd.  He has played 171 regular season home games in the five seasons he has played in Winnipeg (meaning he has missed just four home games total).  If he is in fact traded it will be unusual that he isn’t in the lineup for the Jets after next Monday.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Little back on the ice at practice.  (Paywall).  It may have been a yellow jersey but fans were happy to see #18 on the ice at the IcePlex yesterday.  And coach Maurice intimated that we could even see Little suit up (depending on how he feels today).

Winnipeg Sun:  Preparing for life without Ladd.  If so, Jets better crank up the in-game entertainment.

Illegal Curve: Coach Maurice scrum. What is the status of Bryan Little?  Is he surprised that Little was out there?  Status of Perreault?  Is trade deadline talk getting into the room?  What’s it like with have a captain on the trade block?  Does it change vs. a player that is not a captain?

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  The Big Show.  Voice of the Jets Dennis Beyak joined the show to touch on the club’s recent road trip through the east coast, headshots in the NHL and Andrew Ladd’s recent improved play which makes things more difficult for the Winnipeg front office.
