Jets news:

Sportsnet:  Should Ducks pay price for Andrew Ladd?  Is there anywhere the Jets captain isn’t rumoured to be going these days?  Spector makes the case why this move makes sense for both sides.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets fly into the perfect storm, lose 2-1 to Carolina.  (Paywall).  With the trade deadline less than two weeks away the Jets needed a solid effort.  Instead they took four shots in the 1st period and another four in the 2nd.  Tim breaks down the game.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Size isn’t everything for Toby.  (Paywall).  Hitting 600 games is a pretty major milestone.

Enstrom heads up ice

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets not getting Maurice’s message.  Me thinks there is another coach of the Jets 2.0 who understands this sentiment all too well.  During the morning skate yesterday coach Maurice wasn’t too pleased with his squad and that displeasure clearly carried over once the game was over.

CBC:  An optimist’s guide to making the playoffs: Jets edition.  Spoiler alert…if you’re still an optimist and despite the title, you may want to pass on this article.  If not, then it includes five topics including: 1) The distractions are melting away. 2) Ondrej Pavelec, Part II.  3) Bad Company.  4) Ignore the forecasts. 5) Finally, complete this sentence: “Winnipeg will make the playoffs if…”.

News and Observer:  Canes get pair of power-play goals to beat Jets 2-1.  Read about the game from the perspective of an opposition beat writer.

National Post:  Hurricanes finish season sweep of Jets with 2-1 win.  While many fans considered Carolina an easy two points they rather easily swept the two game season series.  What does that suggest?

Sportsnet:  Latest on Desjardins, Ladd, Trouba, Staal.  Couple of names that are slightly relevant to Jets fans.  That is if you can get past the beyond annoying auto play video embedded in the article.

Jets audio:

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Rona Rountable.  TSN Hockey Analyst Dave Poulin discussed the Winnipeg Jets signing of Dustin Byfuglien, Andrew Ladd’s future in Winnipeg and ‘bridge contracts’.

Hurricanes 2 Jets 1:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice post-game scrum.  What didn’t his team do in the first couple of periods.   What were they able to do better in the 3rd?  Was it something the Hurricanes were doing?  Special teams.   Why can’t his team stop taking these penalties?  On the message after 1st not impacting play in 2nd.

Moose news:

Moose official site:  Manitoba Moose Throwback Night. (In Game Video).  If you weren’t one of the almost 10,000 fans inside MTS Centre for a pretty cool evening you can watch it here.  Runs about 10 minutes.
