Jets news:

ESPN:  Could Dustin Byfuglien find a perfect fit in Los Angeles?  Pierre LeBrun thinks big #33 could be just the thing to put the Kings over the top in the West.

CBC:  5 Things to Watch.  Includes 1) So you’re saying there’s a chance.  2) Electric Ehlers.  3)  Our All-Star. 4) Make or break time on Andrew Ladd front.  5)  Seguin.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Big line staying together: Ehlers, Wheeler, Scheifele will join forces again.  (Paywall).  After the way they played the last game this makes a lot of sense.

Winnipeg Free Press:  44 points in 33 games: Probably the least the Jets will need to make the playoffs.  (Paywall).  We don’t have any big mountains here in southern Manitoba but Winnipeg has certainly given themselves quite the tall task if they want to get back into this race.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Perreault, Lowry back on the ice at Jets practice.  (Paywall).  Looks like a few days away from downtown Winnipeg has done some of the injured players some good.

Winnipeg Sun:  Writing on the wall for Pavelec?  Ken wonders what will happen when Pavelec is fully ready to return to the Jets and the team had three goalies on the roster.

Winnipeg Sun:  Perreault, Lowry tracking to return.  Needing depth it will certainly help the Jets to get back a couple of pieces to the puzzle.

Globalnews:  All-Star break was a time for healing for the Jets.  With just 33 games left on the schedule this Winnipeg team needs all hands on deck.

Dallas Morning News:  Can Stars take advantage of Jets’ tendency to go to penalty box?  A scouting report from a Stars beat writer.

Sportsnet:  Six players worth watching in the second half of the NHL season.  Big #33 on the list.  For the record this list is about players that are exciting to watch not a trade list although that is mentioned when it comes to Byfuglien.

Illegal Curve:  Practice Report.  A look at the players on the ice at the IcePlex for yesterday’s skate.  Also includes audio from Lowry, Perreault and Thorburn.

Jets audio:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice scrum.   Is his group healthy?  Hopeful that Perreault and Lowry are possible for tomorrow?  Status of Pavelec?  Could Pavelec play for Moose on Thursday?  His thoughts on the All-Star game?  Did he like the John Scott storyline?  Pairing a player like Wheeler with Ehlers and what Nikolaj can learn.  Most important lesson that the group learned during last year’s stretch run that can apply this year?  Intensity rising in games.  Keys to not being sluggish post break?  Is Pavelec cleared to play games? Does he have a number for making the playoffs?  Seeing the personalities of players.  Did anything about the All-Star game stick out for him?

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  The Big Show.  TSN’s resident scout Craig Button joined the Big Show for a brief chat on the Winnipeg Jets including their role at the trade deadline and potential needs at the draft plus the NHL All-Star game and why the league’s long line of questionable moves almost took over a great day from tough guy and MVP John Scott.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  The Big Show.  Dennis Beyak joined the show to touch on the All-Star game and John Scott, Winnipeg’s top line heading down the stretch and how the impending return of Ondrej Pavelec to full health makes for an interesting situation inside the Jets crease.

Moose news:

Illegal Curve:  Manitoba Moose Report.  Looks at the record/recent play of Manitoba, Eric Comrie as an All-Star & whether Kyle Connor is the best player in the NCAA.
