Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Jets and Moose news.

Note:  The Jets are 1-2 on the road following a 4-1 loss last night in Anaheim.  The team will have the day off as they recharge their batteries to get ready for a big central division contest with the Predators in Nashville on Tuesday night.

Note II:  The Moose also lost 4-1 on Sunday to Grand Rapids.  They practice today at the MTS Centre and then have a re-match tomorrow night.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Top 10 scorer is the Wheel deal.  (Paywall).  Night in and night out he is one of the hardest working players on the team and that effort is being rewarded.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets return to old, ugly form in 4-1 loss to Ducks.  (Paywall).  Must be all that marble inside the Honda Center because Winnipeg just cannot seem to get it done against Anaheim.

Winnipeg Sun:  Ducks pluck Jets.  Lot of good tidbits in Ken’s recap including what the Jets might do about their goaltending situation.

Winnipeg Sun:  Ken’s Notebook.  Includes Armia’s first NHL goal, Ehlers getting out of his goal scoring slump and Blake Wheeler joining the 400 point club.

Orange County Register:  Ducks open homestand by easily grounding Jets.  Read about the game from the perspective of a Ducks beat writer.

Illegal Curve:  Jets re-assign Matt Halischuk to Moose; Activate Mark Scheifele.  While coach Maurice was happy with the play of Halischuk the move had to be made with the activation of Scheifele.

Ducks 4 Jets 1:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice post-game scrum.  What made this the right start for Hutchinson?  Where were the Jets lacking tonight?  How the 1st period set the tone.  Was the team out of gas?  On the penalty kill.  How much does the inconsistency drive him crazy?  Any idea on the cause of the games that he doesn’t like?  On getting Scheifele back in the lineup.  Good to have options.

Moose news:

Illegal Curve:  Moose fall 4-1 to powerhouse Griffins.  Includes key plays of game, top Moose, injuries & audio (Coach McCambridge & Kitchton).

MLive.com:  Griffins open year with win at Manitoba.  Read a game recap from a beat writer who covers the Moose opposition.

Global News:  Refugees welcomed by Manitoba Moose.  Didn’t realize that this happened in the game against the Wild.  Very nice move by everyone involved.
