Jets news:

ESPN:  Goaltending issues a problem now in Winnipeg, and contracts could be an issue soon.  May not make for fun pre-Christmas reading for fans although it isn’t all negative in the morning 3-on-3.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets outplay Oilers for most of the game, but lose 3-1.  (Paywall).  Unfortunately for the Jets in the NHL they don’t hand out awards to teams that deserve to win.  All that matters is the final score and last night Cam Talbot was the difference in the contest.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets fall to the Oilers.  Ken provides his assessment of the game from Edmonton.

Winnipeg Sun:  Maurice finally flexing some muscle by showing he won’t put up with penalty parade.  Cannot let the inmates run the asylum.  He is the bench boss and it is incumbent on him to show the players who is in charge and what is acceptable on this team.

Winnipeg Sun:  Stuart played in his 600th game.  It may be a milestone game he might want to forget as that first Oilers goal went in off his stick.  Regardless of the outcome still a significant accomplishment.

Edmonton Journal:  Oilers ground Winnipeg Jets 3-1 with stellar night from goalie Cam Talbot.  For Jets fans old enough to remember the horrors of the Smythe Division and the play of Grant Fuhr you got a taste of that last night.  Read about the game from an opposition beat writer.

Illegal Curve:  Coach Paul Maurice assessment of the play of Joel Armia.  Fans wanted to see how he would finally look in a Jets jersey and coach Maurice assessed the Finnish prospect after his first Jets game.

Oilers 3 Jets 1:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice post-game.  Feeling like they deserved a better result?  On his reasons for pulling Hellebuyck.  Did he like what Hutchinson did tonight?  What was his message that he sent after the pull?  What did he like putting Byfuglien with Myers? What explanation did they get on the Scheifele call?

Moose news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Moose lose to Wolves on two quick goals.  Patrick was at last night’s game and brings you this report of the contest.
