Note:  The Jets finished their three game home stand with two wins and one loss after last night’s 4-1 loss to the Avalanche.  They will practice at the MTS Centre today before departing for three on the road, starting with a Wednesday night date in Washington with the Capitals.

Note II:  Tune into NHL This Week with Illegal Curve for two hours of NHL hockey talk on TSN 1290 Winnipeg from 6 pm to 8 pm. Additionally, the guys will break down the Jets home stand and look ahead to the upcoming road trip.  Guests: Joe Beninati (Washington Capitals Play-by-Play broadcaster for Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic), Kerry Fraser (former NHL referee).

Jets news:

Sportsnet: 30 Thoughts.  Numbers 10 and 11 pertain to the Winnipeg Jets and Travis Hamonic as well as Dustin Byfuglien.

ESPN:  Top 25 NHL free agents for 2016.  (Paywall).  Byfuglien listed at 3.  Andrew Ladd listed at 6.  

TSN:  Inadequate goaltending hurts Jets grade.  Craig Button is handing out his grades for Winnipeg.

CBC:  Winnipeg goaltending depth now on the front burner.  Be careful what you wish for comes to mind.  We shall see if the glee remains.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Division basement-dwelling Avalanche slide all over Jets.  (Paywall).  The Avalanche had lost three straight games coming into last night’s contest and after the first 40 minutes it looked like that trend would continue.  But then they decided to show up in the 3rd.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets lose to last-place Avalanche.  It wasn’t pretty and it certainly seemed like the Jets deserved a better fate.

Denver Post:  Avalanche end seven-game road trip 4-3 with win over Jets.  Read about the game from Mike Chambers, Colorado’s beat writer.

ESPN:  Drama in Winnipeg for the NHL’s most interesting sixth-place team.  We will certainly see how this team responds to the adversity.
