Note II:  Tune into NHL This Week with Illegal Curve tonight on TSN 1290 Winnipeg.  The guys will break down the Jets 5-3 loss to the Wild in addition to taking a look around the NHL.  Listen here.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Trouba blames odd-man rushes and breakaways for Jets defeat.  (Paywall).  There must have been a number of sore necks among the Jets defence with the number of times the Wild forwards slipped behind them.

Winnipeg Sun:  Terrible second period too much for Winnipeg Jets to overcome.  It was one of those periods that had to leave Jets fans wondering “was that real”?  After the team was flat against the Flyers on Saturday at the MTS Centre the expectation was that they would bounce back against a division rival.

CBC:  Jets continue to slide in loss against Wild.  Taking a look at some of the trends that don’t bode well for this squad.

Globalnews:  Disastrous start to road trip for Winnipeg Jets.  The team can ill afford to continue playing this way but based on the colour Paul Maurice turned in that 2nd period something tells me we will see a different team against the Stars.

Minneapolis Star-Tribune:  Thomas Vanek continues strong start to season in border battle win over Jets.  He scored a couple of nice goals (especially that dipsy-doodle around Paul Postma) and was making plays all over the ice.  Read the game analysis with the Wild perspective in mind.

Vanek's dispy-doodle

CBC:  Jets pose with pets for fundraising calendar.  Nice to see the players supporting this cause.

Sportsnet:  GM Roundtable (video).  Elliotte Friedman sits down with Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff and Coyotes GM Don Maloney to talk about increasing the size of nets, goalie equipment and goaltender interference.

Metro News:  Jets fans bring their True North passion on the road.  Not sure how many will make it all the way to Texas but these fans sure travel well.

Wild 5 Jets 3:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice post-game scrum.  How did he see it get away in the 2nd?  Was the team overly aggressive?  Mercy pull for Pavelec?  How did he see things change in the 3rd?  Can he build on the 3rd period for game vs. Dallas? Was it the other team being opportunistic or the structure?
