Note:  Will there ever be a Jets game day again?  The team is back at MTS Centre for practice as they get ready for tomorrow’s game against the Lightning.

Note II:  The Moose are in action this evening against the Lake Erie Monsters with puck drop at 7 pm.

Jets news:

Metro News:  Keep the big man in Winnipeg.  Hustler makes the case as to why the Jets should retain the services of Dustin Byfuglien.

Winnipeg Free Press:  More Central foes on tap for Winnipeg.  (Paywall).  It is about to get physical at the MTS Centre.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets are showing progress on power play.  (Paywall).   Putting the special in special teams.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets and Moose are in close quarters this week, making it easy for the boss to keep an eye on things.  (Paywall).   Having both your NHL and AHL squad can prove problematic in terms of scheduling both squads but it certainly does make it easier for the team brass to keep their eyes on things.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets not taking games at the start of the season lightly.  (Paywall).  No question that teams are always better off adding points to the standings bank at the outset of the season.  It helps to prevent the need to have to catch up and then overtake other teams later in the year.
