Winnipeg Free Press:  Let’s get this party started.  (Paywall).   Are you ready for the first True North of the season tonight as the Wild come to town to kick off exhibition action.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Rookies have narrow window of opportunity.  (Paywall).  Doesn’t sound like cuts are happening until the Oilers game when the Jets complete their on ice testing but he did say that while they will benefit from getting club experience they would likely be better helping their junior clubs.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Lemieux has the grit and body of power forward — but what about the hands? (Paywall).  Coach Maurice sure seemed full of praise for the young prospect.

Brendan Lemieux

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets coach experiments with Perreault-Burmistrov-Ehlers line. (Paywall).  Certainly a line that doesn’t lack skill.

Winnipeg Sun:  Enstrom is healthy and ready for new season.  A healthy more offensive Enstrom would sure be a big help for the Jets this season.

Winnipeg Sun:  The veteran-enigma-super rookie line.  That’s the beauty of pre-season hockey.  You can take a chance with a line and see how it does without concern of any serious negative ramifications.

TSN:  Preseason games next step in the process for Jets.  Paul looks at a number of topics as we get ready for the first game of the pre-season kicks off including 1) Ladd/Byfuglien contract status 2) Lowry up the depth chart 3) Scheifele’s DNA test 4)Raffl 5) Young Stars thoughts and 6) Clitsome’s back issues.

Global News:  Childhood friends move on, but Ondrej Pavelec remains.  While it is nice to have your fellow countrymen on your team he understand that hockey is a business.

Jets audio:

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  The Big Show.  Paul Edmonds provides the latest from Jets training camp on the Big Show, which includes standout rookies, a feisty scrimmage on Sunday and an update on Alex Burmistrov’s game following his return from Russia.

Day 4 of Training Camp audio:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice.  Has he seen what he needed to see from his group in advance of first pre-season game?  His reflections on the lineup so far.  Who is playing tomorrow?  What do the prospects have to do to get into an exhibition game?  Same question but pertaining to the players with AHL experience.  When is he expecting to make some cuts?  Injury updates.  What is the biggest difference with Ben Chiarot now?  Was Chiarot this way last training camp?  What are his thoughts of Ehlers/Burmistrov/Perreault line?  Is there possibly too much skill on that line?  Thoughts on Brendan Lemieux’s game so far.  How would he describe Lemieux’s game?  Does he have a shot to make this team?

Illegal Curve:  12 pm practice group.  Mathieu Perreault and Ben Chiarot.

Illegal Curve:  9 am practice group.  Jacob Trouba.
