Jets Papers:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Do the Jets have the currency to move up?  Ed and Garry lead you into the draft with their latest thoughts from South Florida.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets should look at Ladd as big part of unlocking future success.  Many fans continue to clamour for Winnipeg to get this deal done.  What would you like to see happen with the Jets captain?

Winnipeg Free Press:  Chevy’s time to shine.  All eyes are on the GM at this time of year and Gary writes that it is the perfect time for Kevin Cheveldayoff to show what he is made of as he tackles a number of substantial problems.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Courting period begins as NHL GMs talk to unrestricted free agents.  It is such an interesting time of year as players flirt with new teams and/or leverage the new suitors to get more from their existing squad.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets at the Draft.  Jeff hits you with his primer for tonight.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets meeting with prospective picks.  One last kick at the can as they have to hope that all the work has paid off and that they will be making the right decision when it comes on Friday and Saturday.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets still in the mix as Michael Frolik explores other free agent offers.  This has been quite the roller coaster.  First they had no chance, then they were back in the mix, then it wasn’t close and now it isn’t entirely dead.

National Post:  Jets, fresh off first playoff berth since relocation, mull trading up in 2015 NHL draft to target a potential star.  While it is nice to talk about future success it would be naive to think that fans aren’t craving an immediate return to the post season with a more impactful squad.

Globe and Mail:  With legitimate playoff aspirations, Jets thinking short- and long-term at draft.  Seems to be some speculation Jets were considering a move for the Coyotes 3rd pick.

Sportsnet:  Frolik taking proactive approach to free agency.  Not an approach Jets fans would appreciate seeing but Chris Johnston breaks it down for fans.

Metro News:  Jets’ NHL draft moves will affect team beyond next season.  There is hope that each draft year, the players selected will make the push/jump to the NHL.  With this 2015 crop of prospects it sure seems like they will doing same as soon as possible.

2015 NHL Entry Draft:

Illegal Curve:  2015 1st round NHL Entry mock Draft.  We welcome Peter Siamandas to Illegal Curve Hockey as he will be writing about Jets prospects and the Manitoba Moose for illegalcurve.com.  He begins with this cheat sheet on the players he expects to go this Friday night in South Florida.

Audio:

Illegal Curve:  GM Kevin Cheveldayoff pre-draft scrum.  Covers quite a bit in his media chat yesterday.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Hustler and Lawless.  Kevin Cheveldayoff explains how the organization evaluates talent and provides updates on talks with pending free agents.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Hustler and Lawless.  Jets Director of Amateur Scouting Marcel Comeau joins Hustler & Lawless ahead of the 2015 NHL Draft. Comeau discusses the scouting process, the two first-round picks the club has, and the possibility of moving picks.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  The Big Show.  Gary Lawless joined the Big Show to break down the Jets plans for their two first round picks, Michael Frolik’s contract negotiations, and why Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd are the club’s top priorities heading into the off-season.
