Note:  The Jets return to the ice today looking to rebound from back to back losses this past week.  They hit the ice at the MTS Centre today at 11 am with a focus on the Maple Leafs who they play on Saturday with puck slated to drop at 6 pm.  As always stick with @illegalcurve for all the latest Jets news.

Note II: The Illegal Curve Hockey Show returns from its holiday hiatus tomorrow at 12 Noon on TSN 1290 Radio. Join Drew, Richard and Ezra as they get you set up for tomorrow night’s Jets-Leafs game.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets don’t thrive 5-on-5.  Which is not a good thing if you want to be a playoff team.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Penalties frustrate Jets’ best efforts.  While the Jets PK remains hot the team burns a lot of energy killing off penalties.  Energy better used for pulling away in games.

Winnipeg Sun:  Paul Maurice says Jets focus should be on 5-on-5.  Big part of the plan will be this team staying out of the penalty box because they cannot simply continue the parade to the box and hope to compete.  Specially when the D core is as depleted as it already is.  Kirk’s column also covers Perreault and the refs, having no room for error and around the glass.

CBC:  Jets feeling stranded after loss to Islanders.  Jeff writes about the adversity the team is facing in the face of a two game losing streak.  Also looks at the frustration boiling over as well as the penalty problems and finally the team not accepting any excuses.

Working hard on a daily basis to provide the latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news for our readers and listeners. I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
