Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Jets news.

Note:  The final game in the four game home stand goes tonight against the Flyers at 8 pm at the MTS Centre.  As always we will have plenty of coverage before and after the game so keep it locked here as well as with the latest updates via our twitter account @illegalcurve.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Goaltending tandem a big part of success.  With the system in place it sure seems to have helped both tenders finds success.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Flying high against the odds.  Plenty to read in this column including Jets putting together a win streak, Perreault getting hot, Byfuglien being able to play, Clitsome’s ice time and Harrison’s arrival.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Byfuglien back on the ice after late-game mishap.  A collective sigh of relief was likely audible in Winnipeg when it was announced that #33 was on the ice for practice following a stick to the face he took late in the contest against the Bruins.

Winnipeg Sun:  Maurice expects to stick with goalie rotation for the time being.  From the 22 days between appearances for Hutchinson to start the season to playing every other game Hutchinson has certainly risen in coach Maurice’s estimation.

Winnipeg Sun:  Perreault heating up after slow start.  He has done what has been asked of him and slowly but surely he is starting to be rewarded on the score sheet.

CBC:  Coach’s Corner (video).  Don and Ron talked about the Jets last night (starts at 1:45).

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice scrum (audio).  How big a relief was it to see Byfuglien on the ice today?  Where did he take the stick?  Anything else stand out about the game after watching replay?  Any idea how long he will go with the back and forth with the goalies?  Has it been a challenge to use this formula?  How impressed was he by Grant Clitsome’s game?  What does he expect from the Flyers on Sunday?  When does he think Perreault started to feel comfortable?  Can he play defence?  On the improvement of the home record.  On the crowd being more into the games.  On a blue-collar town identifying with a blue-collar team.  Any updates on the injuries?  How is Evander Kane’s health?

Flyers news:

Philly.com:  Flyers erupt for 7-4 victory in Toronto.  While they had a big win last night in Toronto the Jets will once again have an opportunity to play a team on the second night of a back-to-back.
