Note II: Join us for NHL Mid-Week on TSN 1290 Radio tonight, starting at 6:00 PM. Listen to Drew, Ezra and Richard as they analyze last night’s Jets-Predators game, and look ahead to Thursday’s contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Guests: Mike Lange (Penguins play by play) and Mike Heika (Dallas Morning News).
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ defensive confidence is feeding on itself. Sure seems like a team that has collectively bought into the coach’s plan.
Winnipeg Free Press: Redemption, one save at a time. It sure seems that the goalie has made a serious change in 2014. Many of his most vocal doubters on social media seem to be happy (albeit mixed with some skepticism) with the effort put forth by the goalie.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets fire on all cylinders to defeat Predators. It was another two points in the bank as the Jets continue moving up the standings after a slow start to the season. Especially important when you beat a division rival in regulation.
TSN: That’s Hockey Tonight (video). Even though the Jets set the franchise record for zero goals against, TH2N shows you how the power play contributed to the win against the Predators.
The Tennessean: Predators coach Laviolette takes puck to the face. Hockey players are tough but they are essentially covered in armor. Not so for coaches who stand on a bench in a suit and coach Laviolette got a reminder of that last night.
Illegal Curve: Jets donate $58,000.00 during pre-game ceremony. As was evident throughout the game there was a lot of lavender inside the MTS Centre as the Jets held their annual Hockey Fights Cancer night. In a touching pre-game ceremony they introduced four courageous kids bringing them to centre ice for a ceremonial puck drop. GM Kevin Cheveldayoff then presented CancerCare Manitoba Foundation’s President Annitta Stenning with the cheque.
Jets 3 Predators 1:
Winnipeg Jets: Andrew Ladd, Ondrej Pavelec, Mark Scheifele and Jacob Trouba.
Nashville Predators: Coach Laviolette, Filip Forsberg and Carter Hutton.
Coach Maurice post-game presser: Coach Maurice met with the media following the game against Nashville.
Post-game podcast from the Press box: Host Drew Mindell and analyst Richard Pollock breaks down the Jets play against the Predators.
Jets on a Deadline. Game recaps, post-game audio, video highlights and the NHL.com 3 Stars of the night.
