Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  PK is A-OK, power play is MIA.  If discipline is going to be an issue for this team it is one they certainly cannot afford.  Coach Maurice indicated that the team is using their best players on the PK which may leave them a bit weary for the PP.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Postma snaps return-to-sender streak.  He is a player that is poised for success but injury has limited that in the past.  The question is will he be able to stay healthy this season?

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets ready for season after facing league’s heavy hitters.  Doesn’t get more challenging than the one-two punch of the Kings and Sharks.  Especially when you face those two back-to-back.  Plenty of coachable moments for the Jets bench boss.

Winnipeg Sun:  Zach Bogosian logging big minutes in early going.  Plenty of expectations on the young defenceman this season and playing a lot is one of those.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets and goalie Michael Hutchinson are confident he’ll rebound.  Not a big surprise that the coach isn’t losing confidence in his young back up based on one game.

CBC:  In the Room (Video).  Mitch Peacock and Jets’ winger TJ Galiardi talk eye injury, and more.

CBC:  Wheeler makes right the second time around.  Jeff wrote about the decision by the tall winger to step in and show off his fighting skills.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Rona Roundtable (audio).   Shane Hnidy joined Rick Ralph on the Rona Roundtable withan update from Jets practice and said Paul Maurice is using the practices to correct the mistakes that were made in the first three games.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  Rona Roundtable (audio).  Robin Short of the St. John’s Telegram joined Rick Ralph on the Rona Roundtable previewing the IceCaps season. The IceCaps look good in goal and on defense but the main concern this season will be scoring.
