Winnipeg Jets & Manitoba Moose defenceman Sami Niku sidelined 2-4 weeks

A tough season for Sami Niku became a little bit tougher as the Jets defenceman who is currently with the Moose was injured during the team’s seven-game road trip in the fourth game in Milwaukee.

He was listed as day-to-day while the team remained on the road.

Following their 3-1 win over Chicago tonight in Winnipeg we asked coach Vincent about the status of the smooth-skating defenceman and the Moose bench boss said now that Niku has seen the team doctors “it is going to be between two and four weeks”.

He confirmed that it was an upper-body injury.

Tough blow for Niku who was expected to fill a big role with the Jets.
