While the Jets are off the ice today coach Maurice telegraphed on Sunday that the team would be making a move today to cut down their roster. Which led to us projecting what the 23 man roster could look like. According to GM Kevin Cheveldayoff who spoke this morning they will be as follows:
Eric Comrie, Nelson Nogier, JC Lipon, CJ Suess and Joona Luoto.
Require waivers: Comrie, Nogier and Lipon.
Assigned to Moose (not requiring waivers): Suess and Luoto.
This leaves the Jets with 24 players at camp:
Goalies (2): Laurent Brossoit, Connor Hellebuyck.
Defencemen (8): Anthony Bitetto, Tucker Poolman, Neal Pionk, Dmitry Kulikov, Ville Heinola, Josh Morrissey, Nathan Beaulieu and Sami Niku.
Forwards (14): Andrew Copp, Adam Lowry, Bryan Little, Mark Letestu, Blake Wheeler, Nikolaj Ehlers, Jack Roslovic, Patrik Laine, Mark Scheifele, Gabriel Bourque, Kyle Connor, Mason Appleton, Mathieu Perreault and David Gustafsson.
The Jets will have to make a decision on Little or Niku to be compliant by tomorrow.
