Winnipeg Jets make first cuts of 2026-27 training camp

From 50 players to 47 after they send three players back to junior.

Training camp began last week with 51 players on the roster. After Connor Hellebuyck was suspended for failure to attend it was down to 50 and now it’s down to 47 as the Jets made their first cut of camp.

Last year the first cut came after two pre-season games but due to the shortened nature of this season’s camp it happens before Winnipeg has even played a game.  The Jets have announced the following moves:

Back to junior teams:

D – Noa Ta’amu (Edmonton – WHL)
D – Alexandre Taillefer (Quebec – QMJHL)
F – Jacob Cloutier (Saginaw – OHL)

The Jets now have 26 forwards 16 defencemen, and five goalies remaining at training camp.
