Winnipeg Jets lose 4-1 to the Edmonton Oilers but had already “won” before final buzzer

Recap of the game.

The Jets lost the game but didn’t lose the Presidents’ Trophy as they secured the ‘P’ beside their name in the NHL standings with the Capitals loss. It’s the first time ever for a Winnipeg NHL franchise.

Notable:

Jets sat for rest Josh Morrissey, Adam Lowry, Luke Schenn, Neal Pionk and technically Nikolaj Ehlers who was injured in the last game.

It looked back for Winnipeg in the 2nd period as Dylan Samberg went down after blocking a shot and needed help off the ice. After the game head coach Scott Arniel said he’s gonna be ok which folks may want to take with a grain of salt as injury information at this time of year is rarely forthcoming.
