Winnipeg Jets’ Kyle Connor featured in entertaining KFC collab

His real initials are KDC, short for Kyle David Connor, but around these parts Jets winger Kyle “Frickin” Connor, or KFC, is the nickname that has stuck.

Which, of course, has led to a relationship with Kentucky Fried Chicken. Last season, during Game 2 of the Jets’ second-round playoff series against the Stars, they gave away chicken bucket hats to fans.

Today I received an email announcing that KFC Canada is doing a limited-edition partnership with number 81. While I wouldn’t normally report on something like this, the commercial they produced to promote the collab is worth mentioning.

It’s genuinely funny, and I think fans will enjoy seeing the “acting” chops of the Michigan product.

I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
