It was a sobering scene during the 2nd period at the MTS tonight as star rookie defenceman Jacob Trouba took a bad fall into the Blues boards behind the net.
Classy move by Steen and Paajarvi waiting for the stretcher, so they could skate the medical staff across the ice quickly.
It was as quiet as we have ever heard it here at the MTS Centre. His teammates on the ice looked on as he was seen by medical staff.
Both benches emptied to look on as the young rookie left the ice. Another example of the brotherhood of hockey players and how it crosses across what jersey you wear when it is a matter of someone’s health.
Once he was strapped to the stretcher and on his way fans started chanting his name and goalie Onrdrej Pavelec went over to give him a pat on the shoulder.
Stay tuned to @illegalcurve as we will have updates as soon as they are available.
