Nikolaj Ehlers missed the last game in Detroit last week due to being in covid protocol. He was playing in his first game tonight in Washington and in the 3rd period he was hit by Dmitry Orlov knee-on-knee.
As per Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun here is what interim head coach Dave Lowry had to say post-game:
Nikolaj Ehlers is not going to play next game, according to #NHLJets interim head coach Dave Lowry. He feels Ehlers will be out for more than one game, too.
“I’m disappointed,” Lowry said. “I lose a world-class player.”
Tough break for the Jets and for Ehlers.
Update:
As per a tweet from Player Safety “Orlov will have a hearing today for Kneeing Winnipeg’s Nikolaj Ehlers.”
