Last night when the Jets were taking on the Oilers in an exhibition game in Winnipeg there was a notable absence on the blueline from what we had seen in the morning skate as defenceman Logan Stanley wasn’t out on the ice. Instead it was 2019 2nd rounder Simon Lundmark assuming his spot on the left side alongside Colin Miller on the third pair.

Stanley was not listed for either group on day 8 of camp and once skate concluded head coach Scott Arniel was asked for an update. He indicated:
“Stan tweaked something there. So we’re going to get a little more of a look at him. So he won’t be available to us for the next few days here. We’ll kinda see where we are at here. We’ll talk tomorrow and I’ll let you guys know where it’s going.”
He added to media in the room that the fear is it “isn’t good”.
Unfortunate news given he seemed to be a lock for the left side given his primary competition in Ville Heinola is currently dealing with an infection in his ankle, required surgery and will remain out for an unknown period of time, giving Stanley the leg up on the sixth spot for the D roster.
