Back on April 12th Jets winger Nikolaj Ehlers collided with an official in a game against the Hawks which led to a re-aggravation of the injury which had cost him time already this season. A few days after the incident in Chicago we learned he was out week-to-week.

He has been absent from Jets practices since then and hasn’t participated in any since the playoffs began last week. While Gabriel Vilardi is slowly but surely getting closer to a return there doesn’t seem to be any similar confidence that Ehlers is anywhere close.
When asked about Vilardi’s health today after practice head coach Scott Arniel confirmed Ehlers wouldn’t be on the road trip to St. Louis for games 3 and 4 which take place on Thursday and Sunday.
Again not a particularly shocking update but worth noting. The advantage to the drawn out nature of the games or alternatively if the Jets can end the series early, is that it would give Ehlers more time to heal since there would be no need to to try to rush him back for a game 7 (if that’s even an option, which it isn’t clear that would be).
