Since 1984-85 Rick Bowness has been a coach in the NHL in some capacity. Although he’s only been a head coach for 14 seasons for a number of teams.

However for the first time in his career he will be heading to an All-Star game as he was confirmed to be the coach given his team’s position as the top team in the Central division heading into this weekend.
Winnipeg just concluded a remarkable run to the top going 12-1-2 in their last 15 games suffering their first lost last night against Philadelphia.
Of course when he was asked about going to the game on Friday afternoon he spoke about the team:
“Obviously that’s a tremendous tribute to Kevin, Chevy the team he’s put together. It’s obviously a great tribute to Scotty and the coaching staff who held this thing together for a month. How many coach’s get to leave their team for a month and they continue to do well. And players. Give the players a ton of credit. This group has worked hard from day 1. They haven’t let up. They’ve kept their foot on the gas pedal so it’s a great group. It’s a good team on the ice and a good team off the ice”.
The All-Star game takes place in Toronto on February 2nd to the 4th.
