With only two games under his belt with the Jets this season it has to be frustrating for Nikolaj Ehlers missing so much time early into the 2022-23 season. Head coach Rick Bowness was asked after the 4-0 win over the Hawks on Saturday afternoon whether he expected Ehlers to participate in the next team practice (today). He indicated he did not.
Not unexpectedly Ehlers was not skating today at practice as per reports and that was a topic of conversation in the media availability with Rick Bowness following today’s practice. As per Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun:
“could skate by the end of the week. No guarantees, but that is the hope.”
Which means that Ehlers could miss the next three games but the good news for the Jets and Ehlers is they have a good stretch after the game on the 13th against Seattle and the game on the 17th against the Ducks which would give him some good practice time with his teammates if he resumes skating by the end of this week.
The veteran journalist shares his insight.
