The Jets are feeling good after winning two straight (including this afternoon over the Hawks) and five of their last six games. They’ve been forced to do that without Nikoaj Ehlers who missed his ninth game of the season as he deals with an unspecified injury.
During this last week head coach Rick Bowness provided an update (of sorts) indicating that the dynamic winger was improving but that it was slower than they hoped and there was no timeline on his return.
After today’s victory in his media availability Bowness was asked whether he expected to have Ehlers at skate on Monday. He indicated:
“At this point I would say no.”
No real surprise but another indication this isn’t gonna be a quick turnaround for the Jets forward who has been limited to just two games this season.
