Numerous times this season Jets coach Paul Maurice has been asked if he likes to face the same opponent in quick succession.  Last night in Buffalo was the seventh time this season that Winnipeg has played the same team within a week of a first meeting.  In those seven games to date they have gone 7-0 and outscored their opponents 35-9 as follows:

Jets 7 Pens 1
Jets 4 Stars 1
Jets 4 Coyotes 1
Jets 4 Blues 0
Jets 4 Islanders 2
Jets 5 Oilers 0
Jets 7 Sabres 4

For those asking how they fared in the initial contest they had a 4-2-1 record and the scoring margin was much closer at 20-18 as follows:

Pens 2 Jets 1 (OT)
Jets 5 Stars 2
Jets 4 Coyotes 1
Blues 2 Jets 0
Islanders 5 Jets 2
Jets 4 Oilers 3
Jets 4 Sabres 3.

As this team continues to strive for their first post-season appearance since 2014-15 all these points in the standings banks are critical.

Unfortunately for coach Maurice and company that game last night in Buffalo was also the last time this season that Winnipeg plays the same team twice in a week.
