Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff trade deadline day presser

The Jets GM spoke to the media today after the conclusion of the NHL Trade Deadline day.  A day in which the Jets made the Drew Stafford trade.

Topics:  On the conditions surrounding the Stafford deal.  Did they get many calls about other Jets UFAs?  Will they bring anyone else up from the Moose?  Did the expansion draft impact the trade deadline?  On the last minute nature of the phone call he received on Stafford?  What is the message he is sending to the team/fans?  How/when does he plan to address his goaltending situation?  How does he feel about the goalies in the organization as it stands now?  Clarification on the Stafford conditional pick.  Did he take calls on any other players today?  How would he assess the job his coaching staff is doing with the Jets?  What is the biggest thing he will be looking at from his group in the final 18 games?  On the concern about the Jets defence.  What is his philosophy to allowing a coach going into his final year of a contract without any further protection (i.e. an extension).  Too soon to say you’d like to sign him to an extension?
