Video Description:
It was a big day in Winnipeg ahead of the Heritage Classic weekend with the news from this morning that the Jets have traded three-time Vezina winner (as well as a Hart for MVP) Connor Hellebuyck to the New Jersey Devils for Dawson Mercer (averages 20 goals in his five NHL seasons), Alexander Command (2026 12th overall pick), goalie Nico Daws and Nick Bjugstad (on LTIR) as well as two draft picks (2nd in 2029 and 7th in 2027).
We had a chance to hear from GM Kevin Cheveldayoff as he addressed the trade, the pieces acquired, some of the moves made and a whole lot more.
