The Jets had until August 15th to sign a pair of draft picks or else they’d lose exclusive signing rights to them. That deadline has come and gone and neither Logan Neaton or Harrison Blaisdell have signed with Winnipeg. The pair were both selected back in 2019 in the 5th round.
Neaton was a fun story for Jets fans as he was a 5th rounder born in Michigan who began his college career at UMass-Lowell similar to the current top netminder for the Jets. Unlike Connor Hellebuyck, Logan was limited to just three games each of his first couple of seasons there. He would transfer to Miami University (Ohio) where he would spend the next three years including last campaign in 2023-24 playing 29 games for the RedHawks. It was his best goals against average in college with a 3.24 although his save percentage was .894. Neaton was last around these parts in 2023 at a Development Camp.
Blaisdell was taken 10 spots head in the 5th round by Winnipeg with the Saskatchewan product a commit to U. of North Dakota. He spent two years with them before he entered the transfer portal and spent the last three seasons at the U. of New Hampshire. Last season was his most productive as he had 11 goals and three assists for 14 points in 32 games.
