While the Jets lost this game they did manage to overcome a 3-0 deficit including getting two goals in 25 seconds to send the game to extra time. While the Mammoth got the game-winning goal just 13 seconds into OT, Winnipeg did avoid heading into the break on a complete tailspin (although they’ve only got six wins in their last 23 games) and are 15-17-3.

Notable:
A slow 1st period saw Winnipeg go down 2-0 on seven shots. A third goal by Utah early in the 2nd made one think that, that was gonna be it for a Jets team that hasn’t shown much during a long, long stretch.
They got their first sign of life when Kyle Connor buried his 300th NHL goal on the power play.
The Jets played a better 2nd and a much better 3rd controlling the play for most of the final frame. That helped them go “bang bang” as former play-by-play voice Dennis Beyak used to say. Connor got his second of the game to make it a one goal deficit followed by Morgan Barron scoring 25 seconds later to tie it up.
Coach Scott Arniel started Adam Lowry, Gabriel Vilardi and Neal Pionk in OT and it didn’t take long for the Mammoth to win this hockey game. The captain went for a big hit in the neutral zone which was sidestepped by Dylan Guenther who maintained possession of the puck, went in on a 2 on 1, fed Clayton Keller who beat Connor Hellebuyck for the win.
