Winnipeg Jets draft picks playing in college or the USHL (Update IV)

We’ve been keeping you up-to-date with what is happening overseas with Jets prospects and today we take our latest look at what is doing with Jets draft picks who are playing college hockey (or in the UHSL).

With the NHL and AHL season underway it has been awhile since our last update (just over a month to be precise).

1Harrison Blaisdell (2019 5th rounder – Centre. Shoots left. 19 years old. 5’11”)

UND Fighting Hawks (NCHC): 12 GP 0G 3A 8 Shots

Change since last update:  6 GP 0G 2A 4 Shots.

Next game: February 26th vs Omaha.

2Nathan Smith (2018 3rd rounder – Centre. Shoots right. 22 years old. 6’0″)

Minnesota State University – Mankato (WCHA): 18 GP 4G 14A 38 Shots

Change since last update: 9 GP 2G 6A 13 Shots.

Next game: February 25th vs Bemidji State.

3Logan Neaton (2019 5th rounder – Goalie. Catches left. 21 years old. 6’4″)

UMass-Lowell (H-East): 3 GP 0W 0L 4.85 GAA .855 save%

Change since last update: He came into a game in the 3rd period with his team down 5-1 and played the final 20 minute back on February 12th.  They’ve got four goalies on the roster which doesn’t make it easy to get into games apparently.

Next game: No game scheduled.

4Jared Moe (2018 6th rounder – Goalie. Catches right. 21 years old. 6’4″)

University of Minnesota (Big 10): 3 GP 2W 0L 3.45 GAA .852 save%.

The Jets prospect hasn’t played much this season as the majority of starts have gone to Hurricanes draft pick Jack LaFontaine who has gone 17-5-0 for the Gophers.

Next game: Next two games against Penn State which were scheduled for this weekend have been postponed. They are scheduled to host Michigan on March 5th.

5Austin Wong (2018 7th rounder – Centre. Shoots right. 20 years old. 6’0″)

Harvard (ECAC):  Cancelled their season due to COVID.
Fargo Force (USHL): 32 GP 11G 8A 57 Shots

Change since last update: 11GP 5G 3A 18 Shots

In May of 2018 Wong was selected 1st overall in Phase 2 of the 2018 USHL Draft by the Fargo Force for those curious as to how he came to be playing for the Force in the USHL.

Next game: February 27th vs Tri City.

6Croix Evingson (2017 7th rounder – Defenceman. Shoots left. 23 years old. 6’5″)

Niagara University (AHA): 14 GP 1G 6A 26 Shots 13 Blocks.

Change since last update: 1 GP 0G 0A 3 Shots 0 Blocks

Next game: Since January 13th they had 10 games postponed.  They just resumed playing on February 19th.  They are scheduled to play tonight.
