Winnipeg Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey will represent Canada at 2026 Olympics

While he doesn’t always get the same recognition across the NHL as some of the other elite defenceman, Josh Morrissey has done enough to earn himself a spot on Team Canada for the upcoming Olympics in Italy. He was a big part of the Canadian squad at the 4 Nations Faceoff challenge although he was unable to play in the championship game last February due to illness.

The Alberta product will get his first ever chance to represent his country at the Olympics. He has worn the Maple Leaf plenty of times early in his career but never on as big a stage.

Quite the opportunity for the 30-year old.

Working hard on a daily basis to provide the latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news for our readers and listeners. I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
