Winnipeg Jets centre Mark Scheifele does not make Canadian Olympic roster

He represented his country at World Championships for a number of years but Mark Scheifele will not be heading to Italy to represent Canada at the 2026 Olympics we learned today. After being snubbed from the Canadian 4 Nations squad last year, he was once again passed over by Hockey Canada.

The 32-year old centre from Kitchener has 45 points (18G 27A) in 37 games for the Jets. He is on pace for 100 points for the first time in his career.

Despite this output the folks at Hockey Canada have left 55 off the team seeking to win gold in February.

Working hard on a daily basis to provide the latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news for our readers and listeners. I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
