Winnipeg Jets coach Rick Bowness says Mark Scheifele is day-to-day

It wasn’t all good news last night after the Jets picked up a 2-1 comeback win over the Hawks as they lost Mark Scheifele to a lower-body injury early in the 2nd period and there wasn’t an update after the game as Rick Bowness.

Head coach Rick Bowness today after practice said:

Called it a lower-body injury and said it was “day-to-day. We’ll see how he is tomorrow.”

The follow-up was whether Scheifele could be an option for tomorrow. He wouldn’t answer that. But when Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press said “that’s a good thing I’d imagine”.

“That’s a good thing. The way he pulled up when he was skating and they way he left the ice and didn’t come back, you know he’s a tremendous competitor and those guys will fight through anything. So he took the precautionary route and that was the smart thing to do.”

Sounds like they dodged a bullet.
