Winnipeg Jets captain Blake Wheeler won’t play vs Senators (doubtful vs Habs on Monday)

The Jets morning skate today in Ottawa did not feature captain Blake Wheeler who missed the last game against the Avs on Friday and he hadn’t skated in practice the day prior after sustaining some bumps in the game against the Wings on Wednesday.

According to Jeff Hamilton of the Winnipeg Free Press in his morning media availability interim head coach Dave Lowry said that Wheeler wouldn’t play tonight against the Senators and he also labeled the Jets captain as doubtful for tomorrow’s game against the Habs in Montreal.

Interestingly in Jeff’s tweet from Ottawa he included this “Interim head coach Dave Lowry said he’s on the trip as part of his medical treatment”.

Regardless of that last tidbit the fact is the Jets will be without 26 tonight and likely tomorrow night as well.
